We woke up at 7 and got dressed for a wet day. At 7:30 we went to the dining hall for breakfast. We had two slices of warm brown toast and a bowl of cereal with orange juice to drink. After the bus journey and the amazing scenery we arrived at the Seljandafoss waterfall. I walked along the path and saw a ledge to stand on near the waterfall. So I walked to the ledge with Scott. We got our picture taken and whilst we waited for the others we stared at the tonnes of water hitting the pool in front of us.
When we turned around we realised that we were absolutely drenched despite wearing waterproof tops and bottoms. After leaving the waterfall we wandered over to a small building which turned to out to be a home made power supply. Giving out 5kw. After walking a bit further we all entered a hole and found a huge waterfall with a slanted rock in front of it. After getting our picture taken on the rock we went back to the bus and went to a home made cinema and watched their movie about the effects of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano eruption on their farm in 2010. We then stopped off before lunch at a very big waterfall. As me, Scott and Cameron got off the bus we sprinted to the bottom of the stairs leading towards the view of the Skogafoss waterfall. We stopped at the first step and looked up as we realised the thousands of stairs leading to the viewing point that we wanted to go to. We wanted to be first up so we ran up as fast as we could. About 40 steps later we were about to collapse with the fire that burnt in our thighs and calves. At the top we panted for 10 minutes while taking in the spectacular view of the top of the waterfall.
After we had left the waterfall we went to a local restaurant for lunch. We all sat down at nice tables whilst we had our sandwiches. We then got on the bus after a quick toilet break. We went to the glacier and got our crampons to stop us sliding down the glacier as well as an ice pick axe to stabilise ourselves. After a short walk we arrived at the peak of the walk and put on our crampons to start walking along the glacier. We saw a lot of ash from the volcano and a few Moulins and crevasses before heading back to the bus to head to the hotel Laki for a long awaited rest.
